Shaving is the best method between treatment sessions and is recommended 2-3 days prior to treatment as for best results and IPL to be effective, the hair needs to be present in the hair follicle before treatment commences.

How to use One Glide® IPL:

·     Use an alcohol wipe to clean the glass window.

·     Plug in your One Glide® handset and switch on from the wall plug.

·     Here you will notice that the green light is flashing, Now click the green flashing light ONCE (do NOT keep holding the button), to turn the One Glide® handset on.

·     Click the green light again (up to 5 times), to select a level of intensity desired. (5 levels of intensity)

·     Once the desired level is chosen, put the flash window of the device on the area you wish to treat (Make sure the window is fully covered by your skin, if it is not, it will not flash – as it has a built-in skin sensor)

·     The front red-light indicator needs to be flickering, otherwise the handset will not work, if you find that the red indicator is not flickering, bring closer to your skin.

·     Hold the big button until you see a flash, then continue moving the device to new areas after each flash, until you have finished your treatment.

·     Once you have finished using the One Glide® handset, hold the green button down to turn it off and unplug the handset from the wall and store in a dry safe place.

Many of our customers do get IPL hair removal during the summer season. For some clients, they just shift the hair removal area to body parts that won't get much sun exposure. 

As an example, for the bikini / Brazilian area and underarms, the summer months will not cause any problem.

If you have recently been sun tanning, we recommend waiting 2 weeks before using the One Glide® handset. 

You should also wait 48 hours (2 days) to tan, after using your One Glide® handset. 

This also applies for sun beds. We recommend removing all artificial tan before using our handsets, as the light energy may be more attracted to the pigments in the skin, rather than the melanin in the hair.

After this process is complete, you can reapply the tan, once the skin has relaxed.

We always recommend using the One Glide® IPL handset once a week for a full period of 12 weeks.

When all the treatments are ready, you can use your Glide handset once per month, for 3 months or until you are satisfied with the results obtained.

To maintain hairless smooth skin, use your handset once every 2 to 3 months, or as needed. 

There is no need to use the handset more than once a week, as IPL treatment is only effective in the growing phase of your hair cycle.

Threading, waxing or plucking will remove the hair follicle completely from the skin at its root  thus rendering the IPL treatment useless.

In order for the light to target and destroy the hair, you must leave the root beneath the surface of the skin. Thus shaving the area is the only appropriate form of preparation for any type of laser hair removal, including an IPL treatment.
